Thank you so much to all those who have donated. This year we have been able to donate $372,500 so far to the project, with more pledged as it progresses. We are currently working to close that $1.5 million gap as we don’t want to borrow more than necessary!
Since we first shared this outline in December 2023, people have already started to give and pledge to bridge this gap. Please pray and consider supporting us in this work.
March 2024 update
This has been a very interesting couple of years for the WCET. It has been wonderful partnering with other trusts to see this come together, and there have been many conversations to seek alignment with our hopes and visions. It has also mean that we have had to step back from many areas. For example, Miramar Christian School already has amazing staff, board of trustees and a land trust, not to mention their own relationship with the Ministry of Education and the Wellington community. A lot of time has been spent considering how do we best serve the project group to see this new venture- a new site, a new name, and potential to grow significantly including a secondary school?
Sharing resources and research has been a great way to keep momentum and progress, and we are now looking to launch the ‘new’ school on our new site in 2025. We look forward to further meetings in the future regarding this.
